Scan 1: The Results

I got the call this morning, a day early, giving me the results of my first scan, and in short it was all positive.

My oncologist said the scan shows exactly what they hoped it would after surgery and my first round of treatment, and that there was no sign of any nasty new developments and that everything looked, in her words, “really good”.

This is a big relief as, even though I have been feeling really well physically, you never know exactly what is going on!

The only slight downside is that my platelet count is down slightly so my third round of chemo will be delayed by a week so I will likely start it a week tomorrow (6 March), but my oncologist said this is fairly common and that it is nothing to worry about.

But now I can relax and not worry about scan results for another three months!

    That’s such great news, you must feel a huge sense of relief. Hopefully you can breathe a little easier now and just focus on feeling well 💪
